By Kevin Bogardus – 06/15/11 12:46 PM ET

In the worst economy since the 1930’s Great Depression, its nice to know that our elected representatives are not feeling the pinch as much as us common folks.

Nancy Pelosi’s wealth has grown 62% in just the last year!

John Boehner managed to increase his personal wealth from 1.8 million in 2009 to 2.1 million in 2010

and the list goes on and on …

are you starting to figure out why someone would be willing to pay out millions of dollars to get a job that only pays a few hundred thousand?

White House Defends Continuing U.S. Role in Libya Operation

Published: June 15, 2011

WASHINGTON — The White House, pushing hard against criticism in Congress over the deepening air war in Libya, asserted Wednesday that President Obama had the authority to continue the military campaign without Congressional approval because American involvement fell short of full-blown hostilities.

In a 38-page report sent to lawmakers describing and defending the NATO-led operation, the White House said the mission was prying loose Col. Muammar el-Qaddafi’s grip on power.

In contending that the limited American role did not oblige the administration to ask for authorization under the War Powers Resolution, the report asserted that “U.S. operations do not involve sustained fighting or active exchanges of fire with hostile forces, nor do they involve U.S. ground troops.” Still, the White House acknowledged, the operation has cost the Pentagon $716 million in its first two months and will have cost $1.1 billion by September at the current scale of operations.

The report came one day after the House Speaker, John A. Boehner, Republican of Ohio, had sent a letter to Mr. Obama warning him that he appeared to be out of time under the Vietnam-era law that says presidents must terminate a mission 60 or 90 days after notifying Congress that troops have been deployed into hostilities, unless lawmakers authorize the operation to continue.

GOP presidential contenders take aim at Obama in CNN debate

By the CNN Wire Staff
June 14, 2011 5:35 a.m. EDT

Seven Republican candidates took part in the first New Hampshire Republican presidential debate Monday June 13th 2011, on CNN.

The debate included questions from journalists, audience members and voters at gatherings across the state, which will hold the first presidential primary next year. Romney is the heavy early favorite in New Hampshire due to his time as governor in neighboring Massachusetts.

Moderated by CNN’s John King, the debate covered major domestic and foreign policy issues including economic policy, deficit reduction and the wars in Iraq, Afghanistan and Libya. Answers illuminated key differences between the candidates.

In case anyone is really interested in my position on the important issues debated,

1) Pepsi
2) Spicy
3) Thin crust
4) Blackberry

The really interesting thing to note is the spin put on the debates by the primary host, CNN.  At one point, they published a poll on national television that had only 52 responding to support the following results …

Poll question was ->  Who do you think was the biggest winner of the debate?

Poll results:

Michele Bachmann ….. 21%
Herman Cain     ….. 4%
Newt Gingrich     ….. 7%
Ron Paul     ….. 0%
Tim Pawlenty     ….. 9%
Mitt Romney     ….. 51%
Rick Santorum     ….. 4%

However, in CNN’s online poll, the results of which never made the evening news, 3828 people weighed in and produced the following results …

Poll question was ->  Who do you think won the debate?

Poll results:

Michele Bachmann ….. 5%
Herman Cain     ….. 6%
Newt Gingrich     ….. 2%
Ron Paul     ….. 78%
Tim Pawlenty     ….. 2%
Mitt Romney     ….. 6%
Rick Santorum     ….. 1%

In a CNBC Poll the question was asked; Which GOP candidate are you leaning towards voting for right now?  11,024 people responded …

Poll results:

Michele Bachmann ….. 2%
Herman Cain     ….. 4%
Newt Gingrich     ….. 1%
Ron Paul     ….. 83%
Tim Pawlenty     ….. 3%
Mitt Romney     ….. 5%
Sarah Palin     ….. 2%
Rick Santorum     ….. 1%

Link to supporting evidence ->

Please do not hold your breath waiting for the political talking heads to acknowledge that the message being put forward by Dr. Ron Paul has the attention of American voters.

You should expect the corporate news media to perform as usual by continuing to rig the news in order to support those candidates that are acceptable to the money brokers currently in power.

Welcome to the 2012 Presedential election election cycle brought to you by Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan, Band of America and Citi Bank …
